How to Prepare Your Easter Eggs for Painting

Nothing is as eggs-ellent as painting eggs for Easter. Here's how to remove the raw egg from the shell.

Step 1

Wash and dry a raw egg.

Step 2

Using a large needle, pierce both ends of the shell. Make sure you pierce deep enough to break the egg yolk.

Step 3

Wiggle the needle around gently in a circular motion to widen the hole at one end of the egg.

Step 4

Holding the egg over a bowl, blow into the large opening at one end of the egg to force the egg white and yolk out. Gently rinse of the shell in cold water and allow it to dry completely.

Step 5

To paint with ease, insert a toothpick in the hole. That way you won't be smudging your egg using your fingers.

Easter Egg Decoration Ideas
