La Plantation d'Albion Club Med Mauritius

I have stayed at Albion many times before and also this time had a wonderful time. From the moment we walked in we enjoyed the attentive, warm service by the reception staff as well as by everyone else we encountered when walking to our room (with many, many thanks to the person allocating it to us, we found it definitely the most beautifully located room in the whole resort (#146)). Also many thanks to Wendy from housekeeping who did a great job in servicing our room with an unparalleled eye for detail. The resort itself remains breath-taking with beautiful landscaping and views of the ocean from our room and from the Zen pool. We also took an excursion by boat to Le Morne Brabant which I would highly recommend (seeing dolphins and swimming with a giant turtle while snorkeling). The food was delicious with so many different cuisines to choose from. Although all staff was wonderful, a special word of thanks goes to the amazing circus team: Gaby, Elodie, Marilou, Brundo and Mauricio. Not only were their performances mesmerizing (for example the double act from Elodie and Marilou on Wednesday night!), also the coaching of Gaby, Elodie and Marilou at the flying trapeze enabled me to do catches that I had not thought possible anymore. All in all great memories (and cannot wait to go back again!)

My family and I had the most fabulous 9 days at Club Med Albion!!!
Our first time staying at one of the exclusive collection, and the rooms were really lush.
As always, all the GO and GE teams were exceptional (it’s why we all go keep going back to Club Med, right?), however I’d really like to specifically give a shout out to some were especially extra-awesome:
From the restaurant team - Vichy, Grant, Leo thanks for keeping everyone in organised chaos, and to the servers Juliette, Sayan, Prema, you were all a credit to your teams. Thomas & Wayne from the Sport teams, thank you for keeping everyone on their toes and smiling. And to Tarun from the bar team, you were the consummate waiter.
I would also like to give a special shout-out to one of the chefs – Roudissen – this guy was an absolutely incredible chef!! Bumped into him on our first night, and was so bowled over by his chicken biryani and Mauritian curries, that I made sure to hunt him out every other evening, as all the food he touched turned to magic. Everything, fish, chicken, beef, veggies, it was all brilliant. Thank you Roudissen! You’re a legend, and I will forever be dreaming of your amazing food!

Whilst you can totally just hang out in the resort all day and not feel guilty about, my family also went on one of the island tours that went to Moka, and the hindu temples, a rum distillery and the rainbow sands – whilst this was a big day, it was great to see and learn more about the island’s culture, and would definitely recommend to anyone else who was interested in seeing more of the country!

Thanks to all the team – it was an incredible holiday and we can’t wait to come back!

Overall the Club Med Plantation d'Albion is a lovely resort in a great location. It is however let down by one seemingly fundamental issue, the food. Flavours were very much muted to what the dishes being offered should normally taste like and there was practically no advice or guidance on what was in any of the dishes bar a few signs which did not necessarily help much. If you have any allergies or other dietary restrictions, beware! That said, we did enjoy the resort, the excursions we did were good and the scuba diving is fine also.

The stay was wonderful. Lavish watersport is great, excellent and very helpful. Such a great guy. Wassim also is awesome with above perfection service.

We stayed for 2 weeks. Top food and hospitality at a great resort! Special thanks to the team from South Africa , Eithan, Grant, Michael, Tom, Lea, Dane.

Congratulations to senior management Mr Mehdi, Francesco, Romain and Vichy. Special mention to the very charismatic Cherry. You guys are running a great operation.
