Punta Cana Dominican Republic

Second time at the Tiara Club Med in Punta Cana. Within 5 minutes of arriving, Tito and his bar staff were filling our drinks and welcoming us back. If you’re looking for a casual destination for your family, I would definitely recommend this place. Especially the Tiara level access which is their exclusive part of the resort with a private pool, beach and bar.

We traveled with a large family group (4-75 yrs old) and overall had a positive experience. The superior family room in resort centre (new) was perfect for what we needed, two bedrooms and plenty of storage. The location (ovando building) was very convenient to everything and we appreciated that it was close to mini kids club. Our 7 year old loved the kids club and was excited to go every day. Particular shout out to Leo, who was fantastic! We enjoyed the Disney kids show and the kids performing in the middle of the week.

As other reviews noted, the water park is a fantastic addition. We spent a ton of time there with the kids and the whole family enjoyed the slides in particular. The beach was clean and beautiful and allowed for long walks. The NYE celebration was fun and the food was great. We appreciated the playground area attached to the Hispaniola restaurant for the kids while others were still eating.

The cons were that several of our group got sick, whether it was norovirus or something else, and it did put a damper on things. But we did find the staff at the infirmary absolutely wonderful and super helpful. We did need to use Google translate throughout the trip communicate with staff (which was completely fine!) but even then, sometimes staff would just walk away without trying to understand what we were asking. Overall, it was a positive experience and would go back, particularly for the fantastic kid program! Thanks to all!
