Columbus Isle Bahamas

This was my family’s 1st club med and it was a vacation we will never forget. Columbus Island is so special. Spending a week on an island with very few distractions and all the natural beauty the ocean provides is complete relaxation.

Dylan is an excellent tennis pro AND an excellent person. He joined us for our opening night dinner and gave us tips and suggestions to maximize our week
Sasha and the sail team gave great lessons and constantly assisted getting us going
Jean-Paul and the dive team are a well-oiled machine who make snorkeling easy and great

Thanks to All the amazing house keeping staff, restaurant wait staff and security staff (many either from Columbus or a nearby isle) who are the kindest most welcoming people

The beach is amazing and I spent so much time there, but the sand fleas ate us alive. A plan on dealing with bugs before you get to the beach is needed

Amazing island and escape. Columbus Isle never disappoints and New Years was a special time to visit. No complaints for this special get away resort.

More is an incredible Chief of Village with a talented staff. Special shout out to Alix, Meow, Dylan, Nicki and Marie. Gonzo went out his way to make our stay comfortable with high level of detail, chef Darwin was fantastic with gluten free options and Hannah is an absolute delight and charming welcome to the village - so glad we met her our first day.

Columbus Isle is a truly deserted island experience with beautiful healthy reefs, crystal clear blue water and fantastic tennis (har tru!!). Dylan, Charles and Andrea were fantastic tennis instructors. The property is beautiful and our group of 10 enjoyed the exercise classes, tennis, volleyball, sailing, aqua gym, snorkel and bocce! The adults and kids (ages 11-17) had a blast dancing the night away and making new friends from around the world. The sunsets were out of this world and the resort is a perfect size - never had trouble finding a cabana by the pool or a table for dinner. The staff took amazing care of us!

As an active, sport-minded solo traveller, Club Med has long been my favourite destination. I had never been to Columbus Isle though and wanted to give it a try.

The clay tennis courts are in great shape at Columbus and G.O.s Max & Charles truly love this sport, making me looking forward to every morning lessons. Club Med offers various levels of lessons in the morning (advanced, intermediate & beginner), so it’s easy to meet other solo players who match your level of play, and this trip was no different, playing with Canadians, Europeans and even a famous actor!

There was good wind — then even too much as a storm system rolled by — but Jacob from the sailing team jumped on the Hobie Gateway with me to add weight, letting me keep flying a hull in the high winds. Amazing sports team! …and that’s why I keep going back to Club Med.

Columbus has an interesting layout with most of the action at the east end of the beach (beach bar, main restaurant, evening shows, etc.) and yet with the beautiful La Pinta lounge/restaurant/watersport hub at the west end of the beach. I find this Club could grow by 50% to better use the space.

Being a solo traveller, I preferred the entertainment provided at Azul beach bar as the sun set down on this beautiful beach. See picture. Truly memorable!

I will likely head back to Columbus one day but for now, Turkoise is still my preferred destination as a solo traveller.

Great great family trip in Columbus isle ! Location and nature are amazing, the resort is very nice and convenient. The beach and the view from the room are stunning. But more importantly the sports team is really really good, warm, available, caring and with expertise to teach you. A special thanks to miaou, full of kindness, passion, and energy. She was all over the club to take care of people and create good atmosphere!
